It is believed that success in life depends mostly on fortune. Personally, I partly agree with this view since luck is the inital advantage, experience and ability is the sustainable factors of achieving success.
On the one hand, luck is considered an initial advantage to achieve success. Since many people have a better family background and starting point than other people, they are likely to have of high quality learning conditions and environemnt. For example, studying in international schools and having more opportunities to access advanced learning amenities facilitate individuals to build a solid foundation for their future pathways as they do not have to worry about lack of money or helpful relationships. This might make them feel confident about their future options and lead them to a close success if only in the case that they are willing to pay their effort into the work.
On the other hand, I believe that ability plays a more vital role in deciding one’s success in the long run. Since fortune is voltaite and out of people’s control, people who are unable to grasp and take advantage of these rare chance might fail over time without actual ability. In other words, ability is an intrinsic asset and stored in the long time, which genuinely helps people control themselves regardless of situations. For example, a businessman facing economic crises might lose all their fortune and property, however, his true ability and skills will never disappear. Only of his courage and experience will retain and help him overcome the difficulty. As a result, ability is the key factors of achieving success in the life
In conclusion, although luck is also a crucial factor in deciding one’s success, I firmly believe that ability is a superior factor to achieving success in the long run.
