Despite that It is commonly thought that people should submit to a driving test on a yearly basis so as to create safer driving routes, others contradict with this opinion.
Making sure that safe roads exist by the action of regular taking of driving test by the people is the considered to be one way for the spread of safety. This means that people should be subjected to be tested in their driving abilities under the supervision of instructors. The reason I agree with this is because that this works as a compelling contribution to decreasing road accidents by making people continuously cautious while driving. This could be exemplified when Pakistan’s government issued a law that enforced people to have regular driving test every 1 year with a document proving how recent it is.
On the other hand, there are the opposing standpoint, the ones who refuse such an idea, which means that they are against the side who advocates for regular tests from time to time. People would argue by saying that they refuse this suggestion as it will be complicated to do and might take a lot of time. I disagree with this opinion as it has a lot of drawbacks and unwanted consequences as people tend to forget how to drive if they do not practice driving at least once a week. As an illustration, a survey conducted by guardian.com research center on the issue and found out that 83% of car accidents happen because the drivers, who were at fault, forgot how to drive in a good way after long periods of time with no driving at all.
In conclusion, the idea of a regular driving test is thought to be of growing importance and while some do call for such an idea to be implemented, others still argue that this would have more disadvantages. I believe that it is quite more favourable to adopt the first viewpoint as it has proved to decrease the casualties caused by unrevised driving skill.
