Many people argue that robots are indispensable for humanity’s future, while others assert that they can adversely impact human life. From my perspective, I partially agree with the above viewpoint because of the following reasons.
On the one hand, robots can assist people in handling daily work; therefore, reducing people’s tasks and enhancing their life quality. Nowadays, people have numerous responsibilities, not only office work but also household chores, which make them exhausted. The appearance of robots is considered an effective solution to release people from repetitive tasks. To illustrate, robots can tackle housework quickly and efficiently; thus, individuals will have more time for personal activities, including shopping or beautifying. Furthermore, some difficult responsibilities can be solved elaborately by robots that minimize people’s stress and strength. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, robots play a vital role in offering medicine to patients, hence limiting exposure and restricting infection among people. As a result, thanks to the development of robots, people cannot be involved in all tasks; thus, having more free time to relax and recharge their batteries, ensuring better life quality.
On the other hand, the evolution of robots can lead to increased unemployment. Robots can perform manual jobs faster and more accurately compared to humans, which ensures productivity and reduces high costs for manufacturers. In particular, robots can complete elaborately assembly work with high productivity and effectiveness. Consequently, workers in low-skill will immediately lose their jobs, leading to mass unemployment. Due to this, manual laborers haven’t earned money for their living, which affects detrimentally citizen’s life and brings about social instability. Therefore, robots also bring huge drawbacks for people in modern life.
In conclusion, it is undeniable that robots play a crucial role in boosting people’s lives; however, in certain fields, they can displace people’s jobs and cause mass unemployment. As a result, robots both have advantages and disadvantages for humanity’s future.
