Band 8+: Technological development in earlier time brought more changes to the life of ordinary people than recent technological development have brought. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Technology has consistently played a pivotal role in transforming the lives of people. Human beings have continuously worked on new innovations to enhance their existence on Earth. It is often argued that the changes brought about by technology in our ancestors’ lives were preferable when compared to the transformations it has introduced in today’s world. In my opinion, it is impossible to compare any two eras of human life in such a manner.

Each technological development alters life in unimaginable ways. Just as the innovation of the train track revolutionized locomotion in the past, the Boeing 707 has done the same for our time. When the telephone changed communication during Alexander Graham Bell’s era, the mobile phone has offered similar advancements in today’s age. Likewise, while anesthesia alleviated pain, the vaccine for polio has saved millions from otherwise inevitable handicaps.

In discussions like these, it often happens that the technology we have been using for a long time is taken for granted, while something historic or exceptionally modern is considered superior to what currently exists. What was regarded as advanced in the past is sometimes overshadowed by newer innovations.

There is always room for improvement within any given technology, as well as opportunities for new innovations and discoveries. However, no advancements in the present can be deemed better or worse than those that occurred in the past or are yet to come in the future. Therefore, I do not agree with the proposition presented here.

In today’s world, it is very common for organisations to spend an extensive amount on the protection of wildlife. The distance-learning programs have a sparked considerable debate in recent years. Many believe that the best way to ensure a happier society is to reduce the difference in income earnings between the rich and poor. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

One perspective asserts that promoting financial equality can contribute to a happier world. My stance is that this view is entirely unjustified, given that financial inequality can motivate people to work harder, and because happiness doesn’t solely come from income equality. I disagree since a person’s level of pleasure is influenced by a variety of […]

It is proposed that social skills and high qualifications are increasingly valued by employers.
