It is opined that the business world has witnessed seismic shifts as a result of technological advancements. This essay will illustrate how evolution has shaped the entrepreneurial world and explain why I claim that albeit coming with some challenges, this is a fundamentally positive development.
On the one hand, innovation in technology has single-handedly yielded tremendous transformations to the business world. Chief among these are the alterations in business operations. This can be elucidated by the augmentation of technology replacing humans such as automation, artificial intelligence or robots in processes, which has reduced human errors and improved accuracy in tasks. In agriculture, for instance, the substitution of automated agritech in routine tasks such as autonomous tractors or robotic harvesters has reduced the need for human workforce and sped up the process. Such evolution has yielded increased efficiency and productivity in business. Additionally, technology has also brought market expansion in business. With the introduction of various online platforms on social media such as Facebook or Instagram, companies can easily promote and sell their products worldwide. This shift has also led to the rise in e-commerce and online sales.
On the other hand, I believe that technology evolution is positive although there might exist some shortcomings at the beginning. First, such advancements can lead to job displacement. AI and automation which can work with less time and fewer errors can replace human workforce in certain sectors such as manufacturing or farming. This might consequently, result in job losses and unemployment for large numbers of workers, especially lower-skilled ones. Additionally, the increasing reliance on technology also exposes entrepreneurs to cybersecurity risks. There might be technical glitches, systems failures or cybersecurity incidents such as hacking or online fraud which can trigger serious financial and even reputational damage to companies.
To sum up, while, in my perspective, technology evolution fundamentally has a positive impact on changing the business world in operations and global expansion, and also yields greater efficiency and productivity, such advances might also pose some threats to humans, such as unemployment and over-reliance.
