There is a growing debate about influence of technology in different areas of life, one such is the use of telecommunication as medium of communication in professional lives. I, personally believe that people should mould themselves according to need of time, and will be discussing the pro’s and con’s of telecommunication in the upcoming paragraphs.
Starting with the positive, since the advent of technology, people have witnessed increase in productivity because they have the freedom to complete their tasks at their own pace. Many people have switched from their traditional jobs to freelancing jobs, where they report to have earned more and inturn they are more happier. Many students have benefitted from this technology, since they have the liberty to pursue their work and studies both hand in hand.
On the other hand, rise in the number of work hours and increased stress levle of workers have been reported. The availability of people 24/7 have increased their working hours, since they always are on the phone/ laptop. The other disadvantage is the increase in dependency on internet in their daily lives. In case of disruption in internet due to any unforseen circumstances, many people loose their clients, which make them loose their jobs.
However, in my opinion, the positive use of telecommunication outweighs the negatives. This technology has not brought advancements not only in the sector of education, but the health industry has also benefited from it. Many patients have benefited from telemedicine by consulting their doctors, even when they are not available in the city/ town.
