By the start of 20 century the world started moving toward the automation of manual processes by adopting smart solutions offered by technology. Both public and private sectors started transforming the manual processes by adopting the smart solutions. Which not only have saved the time and cost but also have ensured the data accuracy and availability. The critical systems like banking and payment processing, healthcare, immigration etc have implemented smart solutions which not only saved the end user time and cost but also ensured the availability of service around the clock.
While working in emaratech as Sr Quality Assurance Analyst i was responsible for ensuring the quality of a mission critical Border Control application. We were following Agile framework, where release was scheduled to get deployed on production in every two weeks. Being SQA i followed the best QA practices and have planned & documented the test cases. To ensure a bug free release, regression testing was essential. Our regression test suite contain 3000 tests. It was a huge challenge for us to run each test manually in every sprint. I presented the idea to automate the regression test suite by developing an automation framework. I took the challenge and responsibility of this task. With the help of my team and by adding extra time and effort i developed an automation framework with in 6 months which reduced the manual testing effort by 70 %. The regression testing was taking 5 days which after automation framework development reduced to 1 day. As a team we achieve this and it really helped us to ensure the quality of release.
Sometimes situations like above make us to think out of box and show leadership and take soul responsibility of task. I think by adding some extra hours and effort we can achieve impossible goals. I believe that with every problem there comes new opportunities, if we keep our thinking positive and take every problem as challenge we can solve any / every problem.
