It is assumed that reduction in poverty in developing countries can be reduced by giving at least six years of free education to every child. This will increase their writing, reading and ability to use numbers in day to day life to survive and even prosper better, and I completely agree with this idea. Although, this would cost a lot for under-developed countries but overall will impact positive on economy.
Number one reason that free education must provide for six years to reduce the poverty is that basic education has a very key role in all fields of life nowadays. For instance, even a shopkeeper in a remote area would need some reading and writing skills to communicate with suppliers and customers. He should has some basic understanding of math to work with money and for an order book. Otherwise, he would not be able to run his shop properly, and may become difficult to earn money for himself as well. These kinds of simple examples, if added up, make hard to lower the poverty rate in a country.
On the other hand, some would consider it as a freebie and a burden on under-developed nations. Because their governments have to spend a lot of money to make this idea possible. They have to build schools, hire teachers, provide free books and transport to bring children schools. However, I think benefits of the basic education will outweigh the downsides as a literate citizen would earn more than an illiterate citizen for nation’s economy.
In conclusion, free basic education for at least six years may help children to end their poverty because then they will be able to make better decisions in life. Despite the burden of giving free education on a developing countries, I think they should act on it as it may bring more benefits in future.
