Band 6+: The best way to reduce traffic accidents is to raise the age limit for younger drivers and to lower the age limit for elderly ones. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

On today’s date, according to official reports, millions of people lose their lives in vehicle accidents. The major reason behind these accidents was never been age of the driving person. This essay will discuss the reasons behind these road accidents and provide examples as well.

Firstly, young age or older age was not the main problem behind the traffic accidents. It has even been observed that the older the drivers, the more experience they have in driving. Older people know the road conditions and how to control them in different situations because of their experience. On the other hand, a higher number of accidents have been seen because of law breaks in the city. On roadside CCTV cameras, it seems a large number of drivers tend to speed up their cars while driving highways, and when they lose control, drastic accidents become a result. Since there must be more speed limits on highways and city roads.

Secondly, another big reason behind the car accidents is breaking traffic rules. Despite the strict rules, many people drink, drive, and break signals. By doing these activities, they not only put their own lives in danger but those of other innocent people as well. For instance, worldwide, more than 10,000 people lose their lives because of drink-and-drive accidents. Hence, strict action against these lawbreakers must be taken so others can learn from them and value their lives.

In conclusion, I disagree with the statement that traffic accidents can be reduced by lowering the age limit for young people and increasing the age limit for older drivers, and we discussed the reasons and effective alternatives in the above.
