In recent years, traffic accidents have been becoming a major problem that has been causing many injuries and deaths. Some people think an eefctive solution to this issue to raise the minimum age limit for yunger drivers and lower the maximum age limit for elderly drivers. This approach may help to reduce accidents to some extent. However, ın my opinion, there are several other factors that cause traffic accident.
To begin with, younger drivers generally lack experince and have a curiosity for speed. In turn this can lead to mistakes. But i believe it is more useful that providing better educational programs for them instead of raising the minimum age limit for young drivers. So, they could improve their driving skilss and handle difficult situations better. Young drivers find out the consequences of speeding. This programs may help reduce risky behaviours in new drivers.
On the other hand, elderly drivers may run into difficulties because of reason like slower reaction or vision problems. However not all elderly drivers are not same. Some of them may be healthy and drive safely, while other elderly drivers may have health problems that impact their driving. İnstead of lowering the age limit for elderly drivers, regular medical and driving tests could ensure that they are suitability to drive. This is a more fair and effective solution, as it targets only those who have difficulties. İn addition to what ı have said, governments could make traffic safely for everyone by installing more traffic signs, speed cameras and improving road infrastructure.
In conclusion, while raising the minimum age limit for younger drivers and lowering it for elderly drivers may have some benefits. I do not think, it is the best solution. Providing better educational programs, regular health checks and improving infrastructure would be more effective in reduce the number of traffic accidents.
