The first line graph illustrates the percentage of ownership of 3 different household items with electrical appliances, washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner. The second one depicts how many hours spent doing housework per week approximately in every house. Both graphs show the statistics in one country from 1920 to 2019.
It can be seen that, owning electrical household items became popular through years. The most significant growth showed itself in refrigerator figures, It skyrocketted from 5% to 95% throughout 60 years, and then flattened out for the rest of the years. Washing machine and vacum cleaner proportions had started from nearly the same percentage, however in 2019 the difference between percentages saw a difference by 25%. In the end of the period, every house had a refrigerator and vacuum cleaner, on the contrary of washing machine’s percentage of 65.
On the other hand, number of hours spent doing housework gradually dipped between 1920 and 2019, except for the 20 years period from 1980 and 2000. It can be said that from 1920 to 1960 it decreased noticeably, from 50 hours to 20 hours. For the next 20 years it continued to decrease slowly and from between 1980 and 200 it remained its number, hovering at around 15 hours.
