The two line graphs above demonstrate a country’s electrical appliances ownership trend and the amount of time allocated to do housework in each household from 1920 to 2019.

To begin with, the percentage of households’ washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners rose gradually in the 99-year period, whereas the total hours of coursework done cumulatively decreased.

1920 witnessed zero number of house refrigerators before it vastly escalated to 100 per cent in 1980, which lasted until 2019. Meanwhile, vacuum cleaners, which began with a share of just under a third, and washing machines, with a start of four-tenths, continuously increased throughout the timeframe until reaching a maximum by 2000.

Furthermore, the total hours spent by the country’s residents in cleaning their houses picturing a downward trend; considering the fact that 1920 saw 50 hours per week to clean the house, wash clothes, and prepare meals before they diminished to only 10 hours per week in 2019.
