The two charts below display the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between different two years which are the year of 1920 and 2019.
To begin with the first graph, it was shown apparently that all electrical appliances gradually increased in the upward trend. The washing machine rapidly raised until the year 1960 and experienced a little decline to almost 70 percent, and then soared up to around 71 percent in 2019. For refrigerator and vacuum cleaner, their percentage of household significantly reached to 100% at the end of the period.
According to the second chart, the number of hours per week continually declined from 50% to 10% comparing to the first year.
In conclusion, the two figures can summarize that the percentage of household in every electrical appliance increased in the upward trend until reach the last period, particularly refrigerator and vacuum cleaner that reached to the highest point. In contrast, the weekly hours of washing clothes, preparing meals and cleaning significantly decreased since the year of 1920.
