In recent years, the number of young people that break the law has shown a noticeable increase, and while some individuals think this is caused by the amount of violence and crime in movies and video games, that the youth is exposed to, I beilieve it is the lack of guidance, and the increase of mental illness in the among them. So the effort should be focused on these issues.
It is true that exposure to violent content at a young age can have a negative effect on teenagers. However, there is a lack of data linking it to them commiting crime, but there are several studies showing the conection between the rise of mental illness among young people and increase of criem. Teenagers are on a crucial part of their life, and most of them are suffering from disorders caused by drug use, social media, and their living conditions. Furthermore, they are navigating life alone with out guidance; thus they try to find a quick and easy way to get what they want without considering the consequences.
Therefore, commuities should feel responisble for the youth and facilitate conditions, where they can use their knowledge and energy to do good things for the society. This can be done by providing sport facilities, incorporating them in the decision making proces of their town, and help those who are struggling with mental problems. For instance, in a small town in Ethiopia, young people were gathering into groups to brake into businesses and steal, in response to the poletical issue and the social media posts spreading the conflict. However, town leaders come together to talk to them and offer solutions, which led to them solving the problem.
In conclusion, I believe the main reason for the rise of the number of teenages braking the law is their community failing to support them, and providing programs they can grow in. So solving this issues will result in the decile of crime commited by them.
