Band 4+: The crime rate among teenagers has increased dramatically in many countries. Discuss some possible reasons for this increase and suggest solutions. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

There can be no doubt that the criminality among youngers has skyrocketed since the past few years in many countries.

Many interviews on TVs revealed that the level of education can be linked in a way to the criminality rate. In many countries the educational system got worsen through years. Plenty of young males and females leave school at the age of 15, 16 missing the most significant years of education to have all the key to succeed in the future. Instead of studying as every teenager of their ages, they hang out with low frequentable persons. They teach them the violence arts to be respected among the society because they feel out and apart. They do not seek jobs, which strengthens the vicious circle they are trapped in. The solution can be for the government to prolong the compulsory years of school from 16 to 18. Therefore, every younger has the same level of education at their majority, consequently, this will equalize the chance of finding jobs in the work world.

Moreover, the increase of the inflation can be one of the causes. The cost of life become more expensive creating an atmosphere of instability among household. They struggled each month to pay the rent, the school fees for children and the grocery items to feed the family. This sensation of weakness can end up in infractions such as stealing. Few weeks ago, I met on the street a homeless person and he revealed to me how he ended in this situation. Firstly, he has lost his job, afterwards, his girlfriend broke up with him and one month later he has been kicked out from his apartment. The irruption of these cascade events would have been for me demoralizing and even dropping down my self-esteem. This man has not anymore faith in life and started to steal. Maybe this is the worst scenario, but I wanted to showcase the fact that everyone can be in an insecure position one day changing his behavior towards unmoral one. The government can be in early stages help by providing subsidies to person in need.

To conclude, the crime rate is highly linked with our capitalism and fast society. The government should investigate and taking meaningful actions.
