Advancement in the field of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), it changes society but also crime. It opens wide opportunities for crime. Unfortunately, technology has also allowed for individuals to carry out the act of committing crime from the place where they were. Here I am going to write an essay about why I disagree with the opinion that the crime rate nowadays is decreasing.
Yes, there are so many technologies that have been improved and it helps to decrease the crime rate, but it is also the one reason for the increase in crime. Technology has reduced manual work to a great extent and digitized data, which makes it easiest to access from one place. With my knowledge, I can say that the increase in crime is due to advancement of technologies. A cybercriminal operates by hacking different portals and websites to access sensitive information, implant viruses and commit several other crimes. With the knowledge of hacking, hackers were using their skill of hacking to hack random people’s bank accounts. Technology is now being used to contact people through group chats, and also spy on people. But people are not using it for the correct purpose, they use it to show their status, and sharing a lot of personal information, this information helps hackers to do their crime.
A coin has two faces, like that technology helps both the way to increase the crime and to decrease the crime. These are the reasons why I disagree with the statement that the crime rate nowadays is decreasing.
