A lot of people argue with the fact that the easiest way to decrease crime rate is by death penalty. I do not completely agree with this as the punishment should depend on the seriousness of the crime.
The crime rate is increasing drastically in this modern era. This can be do to many reasons like unemployment, rise in economy and many other factors. However, the major reason of increased crime is due to the fact that individuals have no fear of the laws. It’s a better option to increase the severity of punishment. Although, the type of punishment should depend on the extent of crime committed. For instance, someone who has murdered or have raped someone, that person should be given a death penalty. On the other hand, someone who has committed trespassing or fraud they should be imprisoned for days according to the constitution.
Furthermore, we are in no position to take someone’s life. But the punishment should be given accordingly to the crime one committed. By doing so, people will be feared and eventually will think twice before committing any crime. Additionally, with this sort of severe punishment, the crime rate will eventually decrease, making the city or the country much safer for people to live in.
In conclusion, criminals should be punished. However, the type of punishment given should depend on the severity of crime one commit. Dangerous criminals should be hunged to death so that people will think before breaking any law which further lead to a safer place for the people to live freely without any worry.
