Tourism developments predict English to become famous in the world and be the only language used in the world. In this essay, I will discuss both the benefits and drawbacks.
These days, many people learn English to support their career or continue their study. Some people study English to join in the development of tourism and work to guide people from abroad. For example, in Raja Ampat Papua, people around this place are very excited to study English to become a professional guide, and also teachers in schools make learning English an obligation if they want to complete school. In addition, these programs make students or people competent with the English language, not only in speaking but also writing so they can give information or explain clearly to tourists. This benefits people who can speak English and can support them to get a better job.
On the other hand, people in the world study hard to understand English, so they not only try their best but also make English their native language. It will become a problem for their original or cultural life. For instance, young people in rural areas make a study group for learning English every day, so it becomes a habit and slowly they forget their native language. Meanwhile, people must understand their culture too. From this case we know about the disadvantages if we can not control our mind about mastering the language.
In conclusion, the benefits of making English the only language is that we can help people to find some jobs or study abroad easily, but there are still disadvantages. If people just want to speak English, they will not balance their learning of original language, and they will forget their native language.
