Art is human creations that should be appreciated by a sum of money. In this appreciation for art, it is true that many people spend their money for some pieces of art when people around the globe live in poverty. These enormous sums should be donated to the poor because collecting art is only a symbol of prosperity for some people.
When an art exhibition is held, some enormous amount of money can be collected because of its sale. If this amount of money is donated to the poor, it can provide them a better life. In Indonesian currency, for example, when a painting is sold for one hundred million, people can purchase a house in Depok. It means that if this amount of money is donated to a poor family, it can provide them shelter and help people from being homeless. Therefore, donating this amount of money is crucial.
Moreover, collecting art for some people is only a symbol for prosperity. Rich people, when they purchase an expensive art, almost all of them do not know about art. They buy it to show off. For example, when guests come into their rooms, rich people will explain how expensive the art is, but they do not explain what the meaning of art in front of them is.
In conclusion, it is better that a great deal of money should be donated to the poor, rather than investing them to a piece of art.
