A substantial number of people tend to judge others by the first look or interaction and claim that it’s the best way to judge, I strongly disagree with this and I think that most of the time people turn out to be completely the opposite of what we first thought they were. In this essay, I will shed light on the reasons why I believe this.
First, the situation that we find a person in when we first see them or interact with them does not reflect their personality, for example, if we see that a colleague is physically messy and not dressed appropriately it does not necessarily mean that they are disorganized and messy, it may just mean that they were late for work and did not have time to get ready. The same thing for people’s behavior, If we see someone yelling and arguing with people it does not certainly prove that they are rude and mean, it could be because they are having a bad day.
My point is, that in order to judge a person and say that they are good or bad, a lot of interactions with this person and time are needed, they should be judged by their daily actions and words and by the way they treat different types of people in different situations, we should give people the chance to show us who they truly are because we may misjudge a person because of a misunderstanding and therefore cut them off by mistake, we might as well believe that a person is nice while they were only faking it.
To conclude, we can’t judge people by our first impressions of them, as we can’t know what they are going through that day, and we certainly need more time and interactions to be able to judge them.
