Some individuals say that when you meet a person for the first time, you can tell that person’s characteristics by looking outer appearance. I completely disagree with this statement, I will explain some reasons in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, you don’t know about people just meeting at once. The reason is that some people are shy and some individuals hide their cruel faces under smiling faces. Furthermore, there is a saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” that highlights not deciding on a community without knowing anything. For example, I have a friend who has a quiet nature, at first, I thought she was proud and didn’t care about others, but when I became friends with her she was friendly and kind-hearted. Since this happened, I realized that I should not decide on another early.
Secondly, an individual’s behavior can change over time. Thus, first impressions don’t account for personal growth, learning, or changes in circumstances, and basing judgment solely on an initial encounter might miss this dynamic aspect of human nature. Moreover, judging too quickly can lead to misjudgments. In addition, first impressions are sometimes wrong, and making decisions based on them could result in missed opportunities for meaningful relationships, whether personal or professional. For instance, in some research, many people who marry within a short period, face the problem that they feel their partners change after a long period of living together and they see their partners’ dark side such as domestic violence.
In conclusion, even though some people believe that you can judge a person at first look, I think there are lots of invisible things behind their back that can see when you know deeper.
