In the contemporary era, there has been a prevalent trend in utilizing technological devices such as mobile phones and computers, in which a loss of face-to-face communication will be triggered. This essay aims to advocate this notion owing to its serious detrimental impacts.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that technological advancement spurs great benefits to users. As serving purposes of a wide range of personal needs for communication, it has been employed widely in the community. To be more precise, technological devices enable users to have daily conversations without monetary requirement through digital platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Therefore, they incline forwards to these owing to the served convenience.
Conversely, I firmly posit that this increasing trend in technology uses can provide potential drawbacks. In fact, individuals comprehending deeply the advantages that technology arouses, they are likely to invest time for it, thereby mitigating time allocation to direct conversations. In this way, they gradually lose confidence when facing face-to-face meetings since they relatively experience these for the first time after a prolonged period. A case in point is in Covid 19 pandemic. It is compulsory for pupils in the Vietnamese educational program to acquire knowledge through digital media such as Zoom and Google Meet. Consequently, they not only gain their insights online but make friends and interact as well. Therefore, when returning to school, they easily feel embarrassed to have conversations naturally as the online ones.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly believe that this phenomenon can be justified by technological merits, yet it provokes adverse outcomes associated with losing face-to-face communicative skills.
