Fossil Fuels are non-renewable resources being used for many critical daily life purposes such as electricity generation. Considering its limited availability, I agree that it is important to keep a check on the utilization levels of fossil fuels like oil and gas.
On one hand, petroleum products are being used in all kinds of industrial sectors starting from refineries, petrochemical industries, glass industries, chemical industries and so on. Apart from industrial utilization, fossil fuel such as gas and oil products like liquified petroleum gas are used for domestic purposes like cooking. In addition to this, there are innumerable factors which make oil and gas easy to use and thereby, increase its utilization in day-to-day life. One of the reasons is increasing ownership of cars, which eventually increases the need for petroleum products. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that fossil fuel utilization is necessary for basic and essential requirements.
On the other hand, it is crucial to understand the detrimental effects of increasing use of non-renewable energy sources. One of the reasons for increasing global warming is different kinds of pollution caused by increasing use of fossil fuels without any kind of control over it. As a result of global warming, natural resources like freshwater have further depleted and also caused drastic climate change creating problems for generations to come. Hence, it is important to understand that though oil and gas are required, with the advent of new technologies and research, it can be replaced up to a certain extent to limit its use.
To conclude, the international community must act decisively to control the consumption of fossil fuels to mitigate climate change, and to protect the natural resources of the planet with mutual cooperation among all the nations for sustainable development of the world and to make it a better place to live in for the upcoming youth.
