Recently, it is argued that the mass media play a major role in shaping people’s idea, because of the direct media exposure to the huge part of society. However, this is not a big deal for the rest of the society because they know where to get the factual news. Personally, I can see both sides of the argument, thus I would like to clarify my views with example.
Generally, the dark side of the media exposure’s is the impact of their perception about every aspects of life. For example, engaging, behaving and communicating with people within a society or workplace. Taking a Love Island TV show as an example to evidence the statement, when this show went viral on the news and magazines and became a warm topic among individuals to discuss about it. It would encourage people to watch it from beginning to end this is end up wasting time by watching it without having a clue that it will leave negative impact. As well as people want to look up their fake lifestyle and character and attempting to copy everything.
On the other hand, individuals who spend less amount of time on social media and following mass media are influenced by their personality traits. they will not get tricked by any media tycoon and tabloid newspapers because they trust the main streamline and do their research in order to assure the factual affairs.
To sum up the views, individuals should scrutinise the news as well as the streamline to ensure the source of the affairs and to reduce the risk of being tricked by biased news .
