Investing on crucial public services would be a better option for governments instead of spend their money on space programmes . I firmly agree with the statement that the authorities should prioritize public services rather than space programmes.
To begin with, the government’s initiatives should be based on citizens’ needs, and must regulate its policies regarding the public services. Governments represent the will of people within the country and therefore they should provide the basic requirements such as medical treatment, education,…… Furthermore, a country who is focusing on space programmes is already wealthy and provides the basic needs for their citizens. For instance, the USA is one of the most successful countries in exploring and researching spaces, and their country is also one of the highest economies in the world. That country not only success in space programmes but also has a strong economy
Moreover, a lot of money is required for space programmes, and the chance of success is not guaranteed , so it is too risky to invest money on explorations besides which may be a financial burden for governments. However, there is reputation for a country who accomplish scientific progress. So that, it is actually activity for a rich country only , for example, USA, Russia. After all, we cannot ignore the fact that invest in social needs provide more benefits than in space programmes.
In conclusion, public services should be taken into account properly to assist their needs instead of spending huge amounts of moneys in space programmes.
