Nowadays, most children do not engage in sports and other physical activities and it is becoming widespread problem in all countries. It can lead to health issues, such as obesity and cardiovascular diseases, as well as mental impacts. In the following essay, I will discuss the main possible problems and suggest several solutions to address negative aspects of that trend.
One of the problems, caused by inactive lifestyle, is heart-related and abdominal issues. If people spend days without any physical activities, it contributes to obesity and obesity cause to CAD (coronary artery disease). This condition occurs when the arteries that supply blood to the heart become narrowed due to buildup of fat and cholesterol. As a result, that can lead to heart failure and heart attacks. Additionally, studies show that sedentary lifestyle has impacts on academic performance. So, with physical activities children can achieve better focus on subjects.
To reduce that trend, both government and parents should take responsibility. Firstly, if authorities create a reward system that attract extensively, young generation may engage that activities, enhancing fitness and deter risk of diseases. For example, in Uzbekistan, government has implemented program called ‘ 10000 steps per day’ gives people a cash for steps. Not only it enhanced fitness level but also gives money. Furthermore, quality of PE(physical education) should be developed, taking measures to attract more and more students and employing teachers with high qualifications.
To sum up, although focusing on academic knowledge is more important, it leads to sedentary life with obesity and CAD. So sports are one of the main aspects of life and PE should be developed in all countries
