In the last decade there is a rise in the proportion of obese children in western nations. Consequently, such a trend has a detrimental effect on the long-term physical and mental health of such individuals.
To begin with, fast food is considered to be one of the main reasons for obesity. The number of such food outlets has increased in the recent years. For example, restaurants like Mc Donalds, Burger King are found in almost every street. These outlets so target children as their main consumers by offering toys and dolls with their meal kits. Foods served here contain high amount of fats, sugar and unhealthy preservatives, which when consumed by children will make them overweight. Another underlying reason is, nowadays youngsters stick to indoor activities like watching television, playing video games instead of engaging in outdoor activities like sports and regular exercise.
Furthermore, as a consequence of this, young individuals will be constantly bullied by their friends and peers. Studies have shown that such bullying will have a negative impact on their holistic development and will also cause certain mental disorders like depression. Additionally, this might also make them loose their confidence levels and will make them the outcasts of the western society. Also, the overweight offsprings contain unhealthy amounts of cholesterol levels will cause certain health problems related to heart, kidney and legs.
In conclusion, youngsters must avoid eating excessive junk foods and perform regular exercises or yoga to keep themselves healthy and fit so that they do not suffer from obesity.
