The designed plan illustrates the comparison of a floor plan of a general public library two decades ago with the recent plan. Both libraries have huge differences.
To begin with the the 20 years old library, which has one room on the top left corner allocated for computer games, the other room on the top right corner consisted of books for children. The rooms at the bottom of the old plan has a reading room (where news papers and magazines were present) and an enquiry desk where tickets, book return etc is happening.
In the recent plan, there are four rooms, the upper left and right ones are used for lecture and storytelling events while both the bottom left and right rooms consisted of computer room and a cafe. In the lobby area, all the reference books are in the West corner and the information desk in the East of the lobby.
To compare both, the ancient one has a big sitting area in front of the main entrance while in the modern one, sitting area is only present in the children’s fiction book area. The was no cafe in the old library but in the new one it is on the right corner of main entrance.
