The two pie charts illustrate the percentage of employees in different age groups in the public segment in the UK in the years 2015 and 2020.
As can be seen from the two charts, despite accounting for an equal proportion and also contributing the most to the chart in 2015, the rate of workers from 21 to 30 and over 50 reported a different change in 2020. Except for staff under 21 years old, the figures of laborers aged 41 to 50 and 31 to 40 showed a significant disparity in the two examined years.
To begin with, in the chart of the year 2015, the proportions of employees aged over 50 or from the 21 to 30 age group accounted for the highest rate, at 23%. However, in 2020, the two figures of these age groups changed oppositely, with workers around 21-30 years old accounting for nearly one-third of the chart, while the proportion of workers over 50 decreased from 23% in 2015 to 16% in 2020.
Regarding other age groups, the rate of staff from the 31-40 age group fell from 21% in 2015 to 11% in 2020, whereas employees aged 41-50 were comprising 28% in 2020, compared to only 19% in 2015. On the other hand, workers under 21 were not altering much in both years.
