There is a rapid grow in population of many cities, effecting significantly on people’s way of life and giving rise to problems, however there are several measures can be done to tackle these issues.
There are two main difficulties facing cities and society. Firstly, high living expenses has become a major concern for city residents. As population grows, demand for housing also grows. For example, In China, buying a house is really expensive and costly compared to other counties, since the population density and massive immigration has made it more difficult for people to live in such country. Many households can not afford to purchase a house, as a result, they try to find another country to live with more cheaper living costs or move to the countryside. Another main issue caused by growth population is air pollution, as industries and factories releasing more and more toxic gases, effecting greatly to the air quality and having long term impact on public health. In Tashkent, for instance, because of a poor air quality, many citizens suffer from lung-related diseases, which prevents them from breathing freely.
How serious the issue may seem, several solutions can be done to solve it. In the first place, governments can tackle the housing shortage by launching state-sponsored housing programs that build low-cost apartments for ordinary citizens or by offering subsidized mortgage loans which would enable young couples and low-income families to purchase their own homes. In developed countries, these sort of projects are well-developed, so that many people have their private homes or apartments. Another effective measure would be to introduce green spaces, including parks, greenhouses, road trees and plants, which can contribute greatly in purifying the air quality. Because trees and plants reduces amount of carbon emissions released into the air and produce enough oxygen, which plays an essential role in human survival. Cities like Singapore, for example, proved that it is possible to integrate greenery into dense urban environments through rooftop gardens and vertical planting. In turn, the number of pollution-related health problems would be diminished.
In conclusion, because of overpopulation many cities struggle to accommodate resident and this also affected greatly to the air quality, making it more polluted and harmful for human being to breath. However, by providing government-funded housing programs or preferential mortgage terms and establishing leafy environment, those problems can be tackled.
