Nowadays, many people think that the main aim of businesses is to make money. I totally disagree with this view. Yes, profit is essential for companies, but there are other aspects such as social responsibility, urban development and finally employee welfare. This essay will explain why businesses should not focus solely on making money.
On the one hand, making profit is a crucial part of running a successful business. Money helps companies develop, build their brand, and expand operations. Successful businesses can also create employment opportunities for people.. For example, in Russia, there is a large IT company called Yandex. They are recruiting for an internship student without commercial experience. This gives a chance for students to become highly qualified workers in the future. Frankly speaking, having a first work in a company such as Yandex can change everything: students from poor families can earn money and help their parents or siblings.
On the other hand, businesses should not focus only on financial gains because there are have opportunities to help society and improve the population’s quality of life. For example, Sergey Galitsky, the founder of Magnit (the biggest grocery chain in Russia), was born in Krasnodar. After he became a successful businessman he returned to his hometown. Sergey invested in the creation of Krasnodar park( is the official name of the park, but society called it Galitskiy Park. It’s illustrates respectful to Sergey from Krasnodar residents) which became an important public space for local residents. Frankly speaking, this space is the best park in russia with many different zone( park includes: Chinese park, Japanese part and other with rare fauna). This example shows that successful businesses can make a positive contribution to society rather than simply increasing their profits.
In conclusion, although making profit is an important goal for every business, I disagree that companies should focus only on financial gains. Businesses should also consider their social responsibilities, employees and contribution to society. In my opinion, companies that balance profit with positive social impact are more likely to achieve long-term success.
