It is often said that the responsibilities of childcare should be equally divided between mother and father. Yes, it is completely right that both parents should devote their time to raise their infants, but we can not just share equal tasks between them because each parent has his or her own responsibility in the family. Hence, I completely disagree with this statement and will discuss more about it in the coming paragraphs.
The responsibilities can not be shared equally because one of the parents must work to support the family needs. In most families, father is considered the head, so the first duty of father is to earn money for the family. Considering that, father would obviously have less time for his kid. On the other hand, mothers are best suitable for taking care of the kid as they know much better when to feed them. So, from these points, we can say that, it is difficult for both parents to give equal time to the kid.
Now the question arises, “How can parents actually contribute to their kid’s upbringing?” Well, the answer is simple instead of dividing the responsibilities equally each parent should try to perform their own role in which they are good at properly and try to give as much time as they can to their child. For example, If the father is busy throughout the day, he can give his kid some time in the evening. They can help them with their homework, play games with them and teach them some skills which can help them in future. While during this time mother can do other household things like cooking and cleaning. Eventually, both parents can give the quality care to their children.
In conclusion, I want to say that it is impossible to divide the responsibilities equally between parents but, if each parent just performs their own role properly and give as much time as possible to their kids, it will really help in the proper upbringing of a child.
