Band 8+: The rising cost of real estate: What problems does it cause, and what solutions can address these challenges?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, property or rent prices are very high, and many people cannot afford to buy apartments without credit. Today, I would like to focus on the problems related to expensive real estate.

Expensive property has a direct impact on the birth rate. Often a significant share of income goes to pay rent or a credit. As a result, many couples postpone the birth of children or refuse to have children. The government needs to give discounts or cheap mortgages for young families.

Reduction of the number of international students. Foreign students cannot afford to rent apartments near the university and have limited dorm space. They have to rent in the suburbs, far from universities. Many prefer to study in cheaper countries or cities with affordable real estate. To solve this problem, we can suggest increasing the number of dorms or giving students cheaper apartments near the university.

The rise in property and rental prices makes housing unaffordable for low-income individuals and families, leading to an increase in homelessness. Many people are forced to live in inadequate conditions or even on the streets. This creates additional social issues, such as worsening public health, higher crime rates, and greater pressure on social services.

In summary, the high cost of real estate impacts various aspects of people’s lives, from family planning to access to education and even housing security. These challenges not only affect individuals and families but also have broader implications for society, including economic stability and social equality. Addressing these issues requires collaborative efforts from governments, communities, and institutions to implement policies that promote affordable housing and equitable opportunities. By finding effective solutions, we can work towards creating a more stable, inclusive, and sustainable society for future generations.
