It is being widely discussed if people’s age is the most influential factor for their shopping habits. I totally agree with this belief since age forms such important factors as income and purchasing priotities.
To begin with, individuals of various age groups have different financial income. Thus, while infants do not earn money at all, teenagers and university students can have a side hustle and obtain certain amount of their own income. They cannot afford very expensive purchases, but are able to buy clothes, cosmetics and basic gadgets. In the meantime, people aged from 30 to 55 usually have already settled down and had a stable job position or ever run their own businesses, what makes them the most affluent age group among all. They provide for their families and manage to purchase housing and vehicles.
One more aspect to cover, individuals of various age frames have different interests and priorities. For instance, teenagers mostly do not need to provide for their lifes so they frequently spend money on hobbies and clothes. In contrast, their parents are responsible for their families, so the biggest part of income is usually spent on food, to pay the housing bills and leave money for a summer vacation. At the same time, elderly people in most countries cannot afford much as they do not work anymore. This is why they mostly spend money on such essential things as food and pills for treatment, prioritizing health over hobbies.
In conclusion, I support the view that individuals’ shopping choises mostly depend on the people’s age rather than on other factors. It is explained by the fact that age influences the amount of income person gets and shapes one’s interests and priorities.
