Entertainment is a fast-developing industry. The US, being an influencer for the world in the film industry, has a great responsibility to protect and develop its culture by prioritizing its own industry growth. In my opinion, I totally agree with that idea of keeping their own industry growth at the forefront.
Being a superpower, the United States of America has always faced the pressure of being the top performer in every field, and filmmaking plays a vital role in expressing and showcasing one’s culture, tradition, and heritage. America can showcase its true culture to other countries. However, too much American influence could destroy others’ cultures.
Secondly, being the trendsetter, the government has a duty to fund the industry so that it can reach new heights of success. Additionally, film production does require a lot of capital, which can decrease the budget for other important development projects.
Moreover, the film industry provides opportunities for new jobs in fields like costume design, makeup, dance, and so on, which helps in the growth of the economy by creating employment opportunities for people.
In conclusion, there might be some drawbacks to investing money in the film industry. However, these often outweigh the advantages, benefiting in the long run.
