Band 5+: The use of the internet by teenagers should be limited because many of them have been target of cyberbullying. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is an argument that the time of using internet should be limited for teenagers because they will become target of cyberbullying. In my opinion, i disagree with this statement. I believe that there are many advantages that teenagers can get when they use the internet.

First, the internet is source of information. Teenagers can get many knowledges from the internet. For example, they can watch video about subject such as math, science, physics, and so on. These activities will help them to understand more when they do not get enough explanation at school. secondly, on the internet, they can increase their skills in speaking other languages. Take student who learning English as an example. On the internet, they can communicate with other people. They can make video call instead of chatting. It will improve their skills in speaking, while sending messages will help them to increase their skills in writing. Thirdly, the way of learning has changed. In the past, if students want to study, they have to go to school. It is different with today where student can spend their time for studying at their home. It can be done because of the internet.

Although there is a bullying on the internet, I think it is only a little bit. The solution about bullying on the internet is to explain to the teenagers that they have to be careful when they using internet. Parents can give information to them how to face bullying.

In conclusion, I believe that internet is important for teenagers. Many things that they can learn from internet. We do not need to limit teenagers using internet, but we have to explain to them about cyberbullying.
