It is believed that there has been an increase in the number of students at universities, which is seen as a positive trend, whereas others argue that it lowers the quality of education. This essay will examine the benefits and drawbacks of this phenomenon.
On the one hand, the main benefits of the growing number of students in the universities are that many people receive an education. Nowadays, education has become essential for every individual. For instance, in Kazakhstan, the government offers 80.000 scholarships to graduates every year. Moreover, the number of scholarships increases every year. This means that education has become a standard for every person.
On the other hand, the increase of studying at universities has serious negative consequences. Due to the large flow of students, universities cannot meet basic needs, such as dormitory, lecture hall or professors. Also, universities should select students for scholarship carefully. Because, according to the research by Northeastern University 45 percent of students who receive grants do not attend their classes. This suggests illustrates that the education loses value among people.
In conclusion, the prevalence of education tends to have more value for every person. However, many people act irresponsibly towards their studies.
