There is no denying that human beings have been causing a myriad of detrimental issues to the ecosystem. As severe as they are, it is widely believed that there are no possible measures that could be taken to alleviate the matters, while others are of the opinion that with proper solutions, the situation can still be improved. This essay will discuss both of these views and explain why I personally agree with the latter.
On the one hand, ones must accept that there are some irreversible consequences. Human behaviors have led to the exceedingly increased rate of global temperature, and polar ice caps are gradually melting, which means several animals such as polar bears, penguins, and seals are losing their shelters and food sources. This is even made worse by the illegal and excessive acts of hunting and poaching worldwide, causing several plants and species to become endangered or even extinct. Therefore, with those fauna and flora that have already died out, it is impossible to reverse the actions.
On the one hand, I opine that these issues can be efficiently tackled with viable solutions. With the cooperation of several international organizations, a variety of global workshops have been run to educate people about the importance of preserving the ecological environment, which has proved to be fruitful. For example, a large number of the population nowadays adopt a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. Instead of using plastic products, they opt for recyclable ones made of paper or fabric despite their higher costs. This action may result in reducing global warming and protecting species in danger.
In conclusion, human activities have had significant impacts on the lives of plants and animals around the globe, some of which are unable to be reversed. However, I believe that negative effects on the ecosystem can be efficiently decreased with the right method.
