The crime rate appears to be witnessing an annual increase. While some people consider capital punishment the most effective solution as a disincentive, others claim that alternative steps should be deployed. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument in depth.

An increasing number of individuals believe that the sole solution to the growing number of crimes is judicial homicide, regarded as an efficient method for decreasing the crime ratio. The reason for this is the occurrence of recidivism when a criminal is released after a few years of imprisonment. To illustrate, millions of homicides committed by repeat offenders are reported in Europe yearly. Thus, these valid reasons contribute to people believing that criminals should be sentenced to death without showing any generosity.

Contrary to people who advocate for the death penalty, there are those who maintain that there should be replacement methods for punishment. To explicate it , many people have uncontrolled aggression issues , leading to the violation of laws. After trespassing , such people repent over their deeds and feel ashamed of their doings, requesting for another chance to become more civilized. For instance , judiciary systems in many Asian countries have made amendments to the law of capital punishment, changing it into a life sentence for people who demonstrate improvement in behavior . Consequently, these few instances bolstered the belief that substitute penalties should be taken into account.

In conclusion, some people hold the view that culprits must be killed to reduce the percentage of offenses , utilizing it as a preventive measure. Others disagree, asserting that some flexibility in detention methods is essential. This essay discussed various reasons behind these different perspectives and explored whether other punishment methods should be adopted for inmates
