The majority of the world’s population resides in rural areas. The working population between the ages of 18 to 40 are rising in the rural areas. Therefore, young individuals are moving towards cities in search of education and jobs.
The population pressure on the countryside has resulted in fewer work opportunities. Moreover, in villages, people depend on agriculture for their earnings due to very few other jobs. Governments around the globe are bringing rules and regulations to distribute the human population equally between rural and urban areas, which has resulted in people moving to urban areas. On the other hand, cities are in shortage of labour and need workers for several needs. Thus, to meet the demand for human capital, the governments are taking steps to encourage people to migrate by creating new job opportunities in cities. In my city, Toronto, the movement of the new population has brought various positive changes. The household income of nearby rural areas and literacy rates have soared. Additionally, the living standards of the people in the countryside of Toronto have improved with the increase in income.

Furthermore, cities have advanced infrastructure to support education and health. Less opportunity for higher education, poor transportation, and no self-employment opportunities in rural areas are more factors for people moving to urban areas. These reasons have encouraged people to relocate to improve their lives.
In my opinion, migration to cities has become necessary for all the communities as cities are more developed. Therefore, moving people to cities has more advantages than disadvantages.
