As time goes by, immigration is becoming a popular trend. While many people desire to flock to developed countries with the aim of progressing in various fields, there are still some drawbacks affecting immigrants to a great extent. Both merits and demerits will be discussed ahead of my personal belief.
On the one hand, culture shock is the number one concern for foreigners. To clarify, when individuals are unaccustomed to an unfamiliar environment, they are bombarded with a torrent of unpleasant feelings. Even those who are native in language but poor in mental preparation are on the verge of this problem which is rooted in cultural differences. Unfortunately, most of the time, there is a definite link between this issue and psychological disorders, ranging from confusion and anxiety to depression and tension.
On the other hand, moving abroad comes with a multitude number of opportunities. This is because industrialized nations are rich in job positions and since specialists can have a better income than in their own motherlands, it is not really far from our imagination to realize many flock there to benefit from a higher standard of living. For example, in my country, Iran, as a result of economic issues, a number of medical staff have immigrated to developed countries. Moreover, so seriously have scholarships affected pupils’ point of attitude that they strongly believe that moving abroad plays a vital role in supporting low-income students since they can educate without paying vast amount of money. Generally, there is a definite link between migration and making our dreams come true.
In conclusion, although cultural conflicts are considered to be a negative point, there is not a solitary piece of evidence to prove that it is an unsolvable problem. In my perspective, the benefits can justify the suffering caused, however, finding a suitable solution for undesired emotions ought to be in priority.
