Nowadays, it is observed that there is significant rise of violence showcased on television, and consequently children’s behaviour is being affected in a bad way. This essay will wholeheartedly agree to the above perspective, and support it by giving relevant example.
To begin with, most of the channels on television are forecasting movies of famous and in-demand actors to get more ratings. Children often watch movies of their favourite star, even if it promotes violence towards another living being or a specific community. As a result, this could badly influence our youth and also could lead them to think it (violence) as a normal behaviour to carry while living in a society. As per NDTV report, hundreds of children across India are being admitted to specialised child hospital in order to cure anger issue, and the main reason for their behaviour change is the addiction of such action movies.
Additionally, most of the media channels are running their business by selling hate towards one or the other community or religion. These channels invite few people from different religion and make them discuss on a hot topic that is making news across the country. The children who watch the show generally has no idea about the world politics and decides to continue this debate with his friends at school and possibly get aggressive towards those who doesn’t agree with him. There are instances, where a student got angry and pushed the other student from the fifth floor of the education institute just because he said something bad about his community.
In conclusion, television companies should avoid airing movies or news that could create a feeling of anger or hate amongst the youngster. Apart from this, children should be forbidden from watching such shows and should be monitor by their parents to protect them from getting violent.
