In recent times many individuals find it easier to use credit cards to buy certain items and in many regions it is easy to get a credit card for anyone for their daily use. However, while some people take full advantage of using credit cards others struggle to pay their debt. This essay explores the pro’s and con’s of possesing a credit card and discuss why disadvantages outweigh the advantages of this trend.
One primary benefit of using a credit card for payment purposes is that, ownership of a credit card could come in handy at anytime when an unexpected situation occured. For example, if someone went to the supermarket and find out that they have lost their wallet or forgot it at home, they can simply use their credit card to pay the bills without worrying and later pay the debts. Furthermore, credit cards are secured with a password and are very safe to carry everywhere we go compared to cash and other payment methods and if it was ever stolen by someone we can easily block the card to avoid any further spendings.
On the other hand, there are several drawbacks of using these types of payment methods. Such as,developing bad spending habits and purchasing unneccessary items. For instance, most of the times, we tend to lash out on anything we see in shopping centers when we use card payment methods and some people develop this negative behaviour and quickly get bankrupted. Moreover, since we can buy anything untill we reach a certain amount of limitation when using a credit card and don’t have to make the payments as soon as we purchased something, many individuals tend to buy useless and less importent items, which causes them to become bankrupt and loss alot of money if they were not able to complete paying the debt before the given time period for paying debts end.
In conclusion, the debate between benefits and downfalls of using credit cards remain ongoing. In my point of view, even though these cards make payment process easier than anyother type of method available, it’ s negative impacts always surpass the advantages.
