In these days, it is a popularized problem in large urban areas such as lack of a connection between neighbours. In the following essay I will discuss about the consequences and ways to adress this problem.
The problem of not knowing the neighbours leads to several causes, one of which is missing vital information and being unaware of some local changes and issues. This happens because neighbours are tend to be the first in noticing some changes in the area, such as safety concerns, conctruction works or community events. As an example, if there is a power outage, a water supply issue or activities in the neighbourhood, people who are not connected with those around may remain completely unaware. Another major consequence is likelihood of having conflicts with neighbours. This is because a lack of communication often leads to misunderstandings and incorrect assumptions about each other’s behaviour. For instance, noise or parking issues can easily become sources of tension if people do not discuss them openly. As a result, minor problems may develop into serious arguments, creating an uncomfortable environment among residents.
To tackle such issues, there is a need for community events and gatherings in the neighbourhood. These allow people to get to know each other and strengthen their relationships, as such meetings bring people together and help initiate communication. For example, government can organize clean-up days, where people work together to make their surrounding better. Another solution for individuals to take the initiative and build closer relationships with their neighbours. For instance, they can start a conversation or invite local residents to home, showing hospitality for them, so it can create welcoming atmosphere that encourages the communication. As a consequence, this can serve as first step to develop trust as well as build long-lasting and positive relationship.
In conclusion, considering the consequences of this issue, I believe that people can adress it and avoid further problems. This will not be a difficult task if individuals understand its seriousness and take the initiative to tackle it.
