In this modern world, a majority of people are using online internet platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and so on. I assert that social media has its own upsides and downsides which I will consider now.
On the one hand, there are several advantages of utilizing online platforms. First of all, it provides the convenience of networking with people who are far away from our nation. To delve deeper, social media helps us to make lots of international friends and gives us chances to share ideas and interests. Furthermore, on social media, we can seek out valuable resources, update news and information related to our school curriculum. To extend this further, through using online internet platforms on the right way, we can take the lead in terms of both our studies and work life.
On the other hand, there are also numerous downsides of having an account on social media. This is justified by the fact that we cannot be private due to spreading our photos and family information. Moreover, nowadays, numerous people are convinced by fake news including various types of scams that are created to trick people with their money and personal data. Thirdly, cyberbullying is widespread on social media. For instance, if people click one button or open an unknown file, they potentially encounter cyberbullying and lose their debit cards and scammers without leaving any marks. However, I still contend that social media has more benefits the purpose of being socially active and having a great knowledge at lyceum, school and work is using the right way.
