These days, big cities in any country have many issues that affect its residents way of life. More people are concerned about their discomfort because of the reduction of the level of services. The increasing dissatisfaction about quality of life in big cities is due to a number of reasons. One of which, is the slow mobility of cars. For example, if a person leaves his home at 7 o’clock, will not reach work until after an hour, which usually outside rush time takes thirty minutes. It is governments, which has the responsibility to provide a practical answer to reduce number of cars on roads. They can facilitate this by encouraging drivers to use public transportation systems in stead of their vehicles, use motor bikes, or subway stations.
In addition to highway traffic, another reason for the drop in quality of life is air pollution. This is eventually occurs as a result of crowded streets, emissions of car’s burning fuel, and nearby factories. For instance, many people suffer from lung diseases, that are more likely to develop into chronic illness, caused by daily exposure to cities’ gases, such carbon dioxide. Not only health institutions should be participating in raising public awareness to this risk, but governmental agencies should also penalize companies that violates health regulations.
Of course, quality standards of living in expanding cities become less than expected. This essay present chief reasons such unhealthy air and the high number of personal cars, emphasizing that only governments and health organizations can manage these issues.
