Therefore, men’s sports were always more popular than women’s one; and, nowadays, TV channels have preferred to stream men’s sport more often rather than women’s. Male’s sports due to high competitiveness and fascination have become more highly paid. Although, TV channels take more profit by translating men’s sport, they should give equal showtime to the women’s sports.
Firstly, men’s sports are more exciting than women’s, because these are more competitiveness; and, therefore watching become more interesting. For instance, views of the Ultimate Fighting Championships or World Boxing Organization in men’s league extremely high. It occurs because male’s fights are more brutal and sometimes fatal accidents happen. Other example is men’s football league, where male athletes stronger and resilient than females, consequently men’s matches are longer and more interesting. Furthermore, athletes from those sports will have incredible high royalties. For example, the undisputed world champion Floyd Mayweather have taken 50 million dollars after fight with the notorious former UFC champion Conor McGregor. This fight was miracle, because giant sport channels, such as Setanta and CNN called it as a “fight of century”. They took a large profit thanks to a promoter. Therefore, TV channels prefer to stream male’s sports more frequently.
However, sport channels should give equal showtime to female’s sports. Because a lot of individuals might be interested in women’s league in various type of sports. For instance, although, men’s football league has been the most popular, in 2023, views of women’s league were much higher. It occurs, because women’s sports appeared recently, and community have not seen the potential yet.
Thus, popularity of men’s sports have influenced on TV channel’s broadcast. However Large sport channels should translate men’s and women’s sports equal.
