As the educational quality grows, the tuition fees also rise considerably, following with that is the parents’ high expectations to make sure that their spendings on education is worthwhile, which are the biggest contributing factors to this problem. This is because when students cannot respond exactly as needed, not only they will be depressed but also their loved ones. For instance, in 2022, there was a Vietnamese student named H jumped off an apartment and committed suicide after being blamed by his dad for getting a not as good as expected score. In addition, about the earlier generations, people at that time prioritized planting crops as a source of livinghood, so there was not too much depression for the teenagers at that time.
Every problem has its own solutions, there are several ways to balance this case. Firstly, organizing public awareness campaigns in raising children and encouraging individuals struggling with mental health problems is possible for big organizations. For an individual level, participating in those events or raising money for organizations can help contribute an effective part. Moreover, governments can provide financial resources to build psychological-healthcare facilities and infrastructure for finding, taking care of, and treating mental patients as a huge contribution.
In conclusion, the stressful lives of today’s youths can be explained nearly entirely by high expectations from parents and educational success. There are proper solutions but the efficiency requires the cooperation of people, organizations, and governments as important contributors.
