There have been diametrically opposed views on whether today’s youths or older generations have more difficult lifestyles. While teenagers nowadays have to deal with stressful homework, I am of the opinion that adults, back in their days, had to struggle more because they did not have internet search engines, unlike the former.
On the one hand, some people claim that today’s kids are having uneasy lives. There is no doubt that they have to try their best to complete their school’s assignments on time and study hard enough to pass their exams, so that they can get good grades to attend well-known colleges. However, I do not think that their lives are as hard as those of older generations because younger generations have online assistants, for example, Wikipedia, which can help them with their homework instantly, but was not accessible to kids, back then.
Those on the other side of the argument say that previous generations had more stressful ways of living. It is true that, adults, in their younger days, had to walk thousands of miles to get to the libraries to borrow a book or study there, which was more stressful than immediately asking for help from internet search engines. I firmly support this argument as the absence of internet technology made previous generations’ lives more difficult than today’s teenagers’, who can study online without leaving their home.
Overall, although today’s generations are stressed about their lives, thinking about getting good results in exams, I strongly believe that adults, back then, had more difficult times because unlike the former, they did not have convenient online helpers and had to depend solely on themselves to study.
