It contributes to the quality of people’s life and provides comfort and a variety of services. In addition, in the cities it is easier to find employees, which stimulates economic growth and contributes to the development of innovations and technologies, providing more opportunities for personal and professional growth.
However, on the other hand urbanization has significant disadvantages. The city’s growth frequently leads to ecological problems, such as environment pollution and shortage of the green zones. Fast expansion of the cities can lead to loss of agricultural land and reduction of biological variety. Besides, in the cities frequently seen social inequality and overpopulation, which causes criminal growth and deterioration of living conditions for small and medium-sized segments of the population. Additionally, too rapid urbanization can lead to infrastructure overload, which makes the urban environment less comfortable and safe.
